An Overview
‘Brother: The Documentary’ (working title) is Mud Pie’s feature-length, self-funded Music Documentary, showcasing the challenges facing unsigned musical artists trying to make a success in the UK music industry today and how they are supported by the grassroots music scene.
The Documentary centres around the band ‘Brother’, a five-piece rock and roll/blues band from Wigan, Lancashire. Filmed over a 2-year period, the film documents the band’s successes, challenges, and personal struggles while maintaining the family relationships that a band fosters.
Outside of the band, we focus on the wider music industry including interview and performance-based B-Roll with other local unsigned bands, and many other industry figures yet to be announced…
In an era where bands need to increasingly self-promote and manage themselves, how does an unsigned band really get started and how does it breakthrough?
The Documentary also features an original soundtrack created by Brother, with a dedicated single due to be released in conjunction with the film.
Principal photography is due to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025, with a potential release date in 2025.

Music Video
Everything
You Got
Our latest collaboration with the band Brother on their new single, “Everything Thing You Got,” as part of their new EP due to arrive in the new year, has been an exciting journey.
The music video showcases the band's artistic vision and a creative synergy that elevates the song to new heights. This project uniquely defines us, blending innovation with soulful retro aesthetics.
An Accidentally Opportunistic Music Video
When the band decided to cover the excellent “Call Me The Breeze” originally by J.J. Cale, this presented an opportunity to offer unused footage shot by Mud Pie (as a cover song is unable to be featured in the film).
We edited and created the above video as both an opportunity for the band, but also a test case for our Multi-Screen edit process which will feature in the Documentary.
Mini Trailers
Linked here are the collective mini trailers that have helped promote the film, before the official trailer is released to generate interest in the project.
Each trailer is bespoke, based on an interview question, and released every other month, where possible.
